Portrait, editorial, and brand photography by Selasi Hyacinth. Working out of Accra; shooting wherever the light is good.

We are a small studio. Selasi shoots. Ami produces. Yendi assists, and occasionally — when the project calls for it — picks up a second body. We take on about eighteen commissions a year, between editorial, portrait, and brand work, and we say no to roughly twice that number. We work slowly on purpose: we'd rather give a project two days of light than four hours of it.
If you've been on a shoot where the photographer was busy keeping a schedule together — phone in one hand, light in the other — what we do is the other thing.
"Selasi photographs people the way I want my mother to be remembered. We hung the portrait above the piano. It has not stopped working since."
